/WHAT_IT_IS

ALT is a liver enzyme released when liver cells are damaged. Mild elevations are common with fatty liver, alcohol, and intense exercise.

/NORMAL_RANGE

Reference: 7–56 U/L.

What does high ALT mean?

  • +Fatty liver, alcohol use, viral hepatitis, medications (including AAS), intense recent exercise.

What does low ALT mean?

  • +Generally not clinically significant.

/ON_TRT

Injectable TRT (testosterone esters) is not hepatotoxic. Oral methylated AAS are. If your ALT is rising on TRT-only, the cause is likely diet, alcohol, weight gain, or recent intense training — not the testosterone.
