/WHAT_IT_IS

eGFR is a calculated estimate of kidney filtration capacity. The standard kidney function metric.

/NORMAL_RANGE

Normal: >90 mL/min. Stage 2 CKD: 60–89 with damage. Stage 3 CKD: 30–59.

What does high eGFR mean?

  • +Normal.

What does low eGFR mean?

  • +Chronic kidney disease, dehydration, NSAID overuse.

/ON_TRT

TRT can slightly lower eGFR — usually because muscle mass goes up and the equation uses creatinine. True kidney function is fine in most cases. If you're concerned, ask for cystatin-C-based eGFR.
