What does high HGB mean?
- +TRT, smoking, sleep apnea, high altitude, dehydration.
What does low HGB mean?
- +Iron, B12, or folate deficiency; chronic disease; blood loss.

Watch alongside hematocrit. If HGB > 17.5 you're usually approaching HCT thresholds that warrant intervention.
