What does high MCV mean?

  • +B12/folate deficiency, alcohol use, hypothyroidism, some medications.

What does low MCV mean?

  • +Iron deficiency, thalassemia, chronic disease.

Not typically affected by TRT. Persistent abnormalities suggest a separate nutritional or hematologic issue.
